Foam rubber tail

For dry events...

So, I was wondering if anyone had ever thought of making a foam rubber tail.
I was thinking to make one, because materials are cheap and it could come out realistic.
So, what do you think?

I made a tail that was cloth with a foam rubber lining. It worked great although i would make sure that the tail is very snug as my tail liked to ride down while I was swimming. Foam rubber on its own can rip very easily.

I know, in fact I want to use it only for dry events.

Foam rubber is like raw neoprene and would be very hot on the surface.
