Hello all Fellow merfolk,
I am new to this forum and hopefully someone on here can give me some help!!!
I am in the very beginning of a new adventure/business. I have been trying to figure out for a while how I can make my love of mermaids into a business. I have decided to scale down my wild imagination and focus more realistically, I would like to be a mermaid for hire. Whether it is birthday parties, VIP parties, charities, weddings, ect I am sure I can make this work. I have a name, logo, rough contract being put together, I have my amazing husband who has agreed to help get me in and out of pools, and I am working on a mermaid story for me! What I am trying to figure out is how early should the mermaid arrive, where do you normally change in and out of the tail, I wouldn't want to get caught and crush little dreams? What do most mermaids do at children's parties? What do most people charge? Or is it a case by case base? Any other information that anyone has is greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you everyone. I am looking to launch this idea in the next year so I have some time to get everything together!

Hi there. I have many resources to help you. First of all I published a book about being a professional mermaid for hire. there is a cheaper digital copy if you can't afford the hard copy. It's hard to answer your questions on the forum because I literally filled a book with the info! www.makemeamermaid.com is the website for it.

Next, I also run online workshops for professional mermaids. Brand new people welcome, you dont have to have any experience! I have one this Saturday: http://www.anymeeting.com/rainamermaid

After that. I have a free youtube series called "So you want to be a Mermaid" that goes through loads of stuff in vlog stlye. This is the playlist, scroll to the bottom for the first videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLL8BBR9r-Pi-RWPAUXZrcbDs25GArBhEk&feature=mh_lolz

And finally, we have a huge resource section here on mernetwork: http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?3687-The-Official-quot-How-to-Become-a-Professional-Mermaid-quot-Index

good luck!

Hi! I started a business about a year ago, so I understand your concerns. Starting it was definitely a unique journey, but with determination and passion, anything is possible. My tip for a beginner would be to consider setting up a virtual office. It can provide flexibility and cost-saving benefits. I was lucky to find the best virtual office in the uk here https://www.hoxtonmix.com/blog/best-registered-office-address-provider-in-the-uk/ It provided me with a business address and mail, and helped me save money on a physical office, so I could invest it in marketing and promotion.
Feel free to PM me if you have questions. Good luck!
