Hey everyone.
I've been lurking around here but haven't felt much like talking dueto my injury. Figured it was time to let y'all know how I'm doing.

To fill in anyone not in the know..
April 18, 2014 I broke my 5th metatarsal in my foot. That is the long bone before your toes. it's called a Jones fracture. I actually broke it in 2 places.

This was a work related injury. Thankfully covered by workers comp.

April 22, 2014 I went in for outpatient surgery to have a screw put in that broken bone. This is a permanent placement.

It's been a rough recovery.still in pain a bit when I walk.
I did not have to have a cast. I was put into a boot instead. My doctor is a sports orthopedic doctor.. so he is treating me lie an athletic needing to get back on the field. Fast tracking my recovery.

As of now the bone is about half way healed. I have a week left before I am allowed to tail swim again. My next xrays elk be in July.

This has not been a fun summer. But I can walk and will be able to swim as a mermaid again but I'm likely to suffer from arthritic pain for the rest of my life.

:-( no fun; but at least you'll be able to get back to the things you love.

Yep. Only thing that keeps me going and ignoring the pain everyday.
