I found some pretty sparkly material on Joanns website and I noticed that it was mostly polyester. Here is the link: http://www.joann.com/performance-fabric-eggplant-purple-mystique/12196333.html I will be swimming mostly in pools if that information is needed. Thanks in advance! :)

Can't see why not, although the shininess might wear off in pools.
It doesn't seem to be holograph, though, so it should be ok.

Just make sure it's not a knit fabric. If it is, you'll wind up with gaping, unraveling holes anywhere it comes into contact with a rough surface.

It should be, just a stretch polyester (:

Most of their stretch performance material should work very well.

I have used these 2 to make tails to fit on my FinFun Monofin

If you search the website for "performance" then click on fabric, you'll get LOTS of stuff online. But as you probably know, you may not find it in your local store as each is different and stocked for whatever sells best.
