Hi guys,
I am making a mer Calender for next year, the only problem is, is that I have no photographs of Mers.
If you wish could you maybe chose a photo of yourself in your tail, and also post who took is and your mer name so I can credit it =)

I don't have a tail yet, so I can't really contribute, but I do have one quick question, are you planning to sell the calendars once they're finished, or are they purely as like a personal creative project?

^ most things related to calendars are and can be considered commercial so commercial usage may require contracts... Not to ruin your buzz but if it's anything professional, you may need a written consent from both photographer and model if you'd like to create things from their images.

For some people, mere credit may not be enough especially if you're thinking to sell anything or make profit from the calendar.

It's best if you were to find some mers in your area and photograph them yourself with model releases :)

Also, for anything mer picture related, unless you have written consent from all parties who've contributed to such images, please don't take anything from the internet and use it for any purposes without the creators knowledge :) you could potentially get in trouble for such things.

Don't mean to be a buzz kill and it may not be what you were wanting to hear, but I hope this helps :)

@Tieri It's just a small project for fun not for profit =)

@Meilyn I am not planing to sell it just purely for fun as a holiday project =) unfortunatly there are no other Mers in my area which it why I am asking here =( again I am asking here so I have permission from the owners and not taking them straight off the internet and potentially getting into trouble =)

I believe Australia is Oceania pod? Because North Pacific is actually for Oregon, Washington, Alaska, etc.

@Ilyena The only problem is that I only have my learners licence and need an adult to drive with me and I can't let my mum know I am into Mermaiding otherwise she will freak and kick me out, because she does not believe that "someone my age should be into fairy tales and childish stuff"

@Aziara Thanks =) i'll go and join the pod =)

@shimmygoddess Would that be ok? but yes I would love to =) thanks =)

Hopefully one day she'll understand :). In SA (not sure about Vic) we have mers/want to be mers over 30 down to children, though I guess that's just how people perceive things. I'm 21 and I finally showed my whole family at christmas time, was a bag of mixed thoughts. Though all the more reason to get your license quicker ^_^, we'll be here to help you all the way.

I hope she'll understand too but I know she won't she's got issues but I take my fabric tail to the pool with my friend, she knows about that one though but I had to hide it from her, she only found out when I was at my Godparent's pool and they recorded it =) thankfully we were in the US and she was back in AUS so she wasn't mad when we got home =)

Well as long as it turned out ok and you're happy about it. Do you have a monofin?

I have a fabric tail that has two flippers in it but the way that they are shaped makes it more like a fluke

Just some personal thoughts but I've always thought that nobody has grounds to say anything about mermaiding if they think that it's not immature for grown men to obsess over cars. Honestly it's just hot wheels from men. Not that there's anything wrong with it but at the same time they spend way more money on those toys then I did on my mine: ) So if sports cars are a mature hobby then so is mermaiding. Just a thought.
