Hey everybody! I am brand new to mermaiding, and I am soooooo hooked. I am driving my husband Nuts. LOL
We just moved to Florida a few months ago and my girls and I visted Weeki Wachee and OMG Mermaids! AH! I added them to FB and they started posting pictures in their silicon tails and OMG, Tails! Needless to say the last few months have seen me pouring over pictures of the tails, how to videos, and flipping around in the pool trying to regain my prepregnancy/presurgery girlish figure. I am a wee bit of an introvert (okay, I lied I am very much one LOL) and I find myself most comfortable dressed up in fantasy wear! (Halloween is my favorite Holiday). I was a dramatic arts major in college and an avid writer and reader of fantasy works. I was even tempted to try out to become one of Weeki Wachees mermaids, but I still have about 40 pounds of weight loss to go. The hope for a tail has very much given me the drive I needed to get back into shape. I was really feeling down about myself, depressed, and very lonely having had to move away from my very few friends because of my husbands job. Now I am completely inspired! I just wish someone would hold a class on how to make a tail LOL. I would totally pay good money for a hands on tutorial on tail making. As it is I can't get one until I land a job and start saving money to buy a house (rather then rent) I am thinking in the interim of getting a fabric tail and have already spoken with a few tail makers trying to decide which would best work for me. I can't wait to start this journey! I am SO excited!
