I'm not bashing anyone's spelling, if anything, I'm bashing myself for growing up with the grammar police as a mother!

Anyway. I have a pet peeve.

I HAAAAAATTTTEEEE it when people spell things wrong and it ends up meaning something completely different! Here's an example:

Lately, I've been seeing people, mers or not, and more often some of my cosplay friends, using the word silicon instead of silicone! It's not the same thing people! Raaawwergh! Yes, that was a sound of frustration.

CURSE MY GRAMMATICALLY STRICT FAMILY!

Have a nice day, I suppose.

yeah that one bugs me... however, despite being a teacher I have terrible skills. It's because I have a learning disability and it's really stressful for me. When I'm online unless I'm writing something professional, I tend to let it come out the way it does- lol. Sometimes autocorrect helps, but sometimes typing from my phone is worse. I do have people edit official things for me, and when I was teaching I would go over my materials a million times. But I just don't have that kind of energy to devote to my online stuff lol. You should of seen, had it not been for Little Orca my book (which had 5 people edit it) would have said "forward" instead of "Foreword" on the cover. LOL XD Thankfully it was caught ;) When people see my writing now they don't realize I have improved so much in the past years, after drilling and drilling myself. But it's all relative ;)

Wow. Raina posted on my thread. I'm stunned! Kewl! Yeah, I used to be horrendous at spelling, but my mom drilled it into me. Eventually, it just stuck. And I understand the need for a proofreader. That's what my older sister is for. If I'm writing something, at least. She has a Bachelor's in Creative Writing.

I used to spell weird wrong all the time. Aggravated was a frustrating one for years. However, I can spell sphigmomanometer all by my lonesome. It doesn't even come up in autocorrect.
