I am looking to dive deeper into my mermaid obsession and buy a silicone tail for recreational and hopefully professional use! I only have a finfun tail right now, but am obsessed with the realistic look. I have a gofundme account to help me save up for the expenses of the dream! Anyone looking to help a noob mer out would be great!!! Ive read Raina's book and she says to reach out for help, so what better place but the mernetwork! I don't think she meant to reach out for donations... I think it's more like help advertising and getting the word out about you.. But I can't speak for her because I am not her and I haven't read her book.

Maybe she didnt, thats just what i got from her words and experience... I know this is my first post, i didnt know about this until i read her book!!! I just knew about the atlantis wave dancers

I know, i just found out about this place through the book i read... Hoping to meet mermaid near me to help ease me into the community!!! I just feel like i need to be more advanced to be in the community. Thats why i asked

Hey doll, it's great that you are asking for help, a lot of mermaids started in your same place. That being said there are a lot of mermaids here that are doing their own fundraising for tails, and more than likely, will not be able to donate, (although some might, we've had this same situation come up at least once a month). ask your family and friends for donations or support, or do parties in your fin fun tail to raise money for a full silicone or whatever type you would like. There are quite a few mermaids that perform in spandex/fabric/neoprene and do just lovely. :-) Welcome to the forum, there is a introduce yourself thread and I'm sure you will love it here.

I believe Raina did some fundraising for one of her tails (her Mertailor one a million years ago) but she's pretty up front in saying that she fundraised from sources outside of the mer community. Welcome to the forums, but I'd get to know people a little bit first before you hit them up for money. Everyone around these parts wants a silicone tail. Maybe check out the tailmaking section? You could give it a shot yourself if you felt up to it :)
