View Full Version : Just saved $96 on my finis competitor!
I googled "finis coupon code" and came up with a 30% off code: rhinos. Just enter it at checkout and you're good to go. Don't know how long it's good for, but figured I'd post it in case, like me, anyone else here was on the fence buying such an expensive fin. Took my total from $320 to $224, and it's free shipping on orders over $99 :)
Edit to add: I had an issue with their shopping cart system and had to call for help. A very nice young lady answered the phone and helped me place my order, accepting that same coupon code. So if the cart system gives you an error as you try to check out, they can still help you :rainbow:

What? That code seems so random. :P But, that is totally awesome!

Do you like it???
I just came back from my first swim with it and WOW. This thing has so much power it's crazy! I can do half a length of the pool in a single breath, which isn't all that long for me because I need to work on breath holding... maybe 6 kicks total? It does slip a little because the foot pockets are too big (smallest they make is a US 7.5, I'm a 6) so I'll have to get some swim socks to wear under it. I am absolutely exhausted but it was so much fun! One little girl even asked if I was a mermaid :)
This is my first monofin (because go big or go home, right?) so I'm going to need more practice with it, but it was so cool to be able to move like that. It felt so natural and exhilarating.
I'm a little concerned because I got a few scrapes on the top of the blade where I must have scraped it against the bottom of the pool. That's definitely something I need to work on if I plan on making it into a silicone tail - don't want to damage the silicone just because I don't know what I'm doing. I got a few scrapes on my knees too from kneeling in the shallow end to catch my breath; I'm hoping the scrapes on the fin are from that, which I'll learn not to do, and not from scraping the bottom while swimming, because that's way harder to notice.

Great so happy to hear it has the power. I am getting my tail made right now and I told them I wanted a stiffer fluke and we are going with the competitor!!!! This is going to be so much fun!!! I wear a 5.5 or 6 ladies too so I guess I will be buying some dive socks just I case!!!!
So much power. When I surfaced for the first time I was amazed at how far I'd gone! Going that fast underwater is so cool!
I just ordered a pair of 2mm dive socks on Amazon and I really hope they help. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003554EGS/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?ref_=pe_385040_30332200_TE_it em
I didn't get any bad chaffing on my ankles like some people have reported, but I could feel the foot pockets stretch and drag a bit with each kick. I can only imagine how much faster this fin could be when it fits properly!
Tiny feet mers unite! I can wear anything from a 5.5 to a 6.5 depending on the brand and sometimes even kid shoes will fit. Still kicking myself for not buying a pair of kids' light-up Darth Vader sneakers I saw a while back...
Oh, one more thing: a one-piece bathing suit is the way to go with one of these, or else bottoms that are super secure. I almost swam out of my bikini!j
