Thought this was a very cool idea. A reporter sent picture to freelance photoshoppers in different countries asking them to make her look beautiful.

Very different results from different people and different places. It's interesting to see, IMO.

OK. So which style do you think looks best?

PS- I liked Argentina & Australia (Thought they looked the most Mermaidy :mermaid kiss: )

Here is a link for the news story: http://business-review.eu/featured/journalist-has-her-portrait-photoshopped-in-25-countries-we-asked-for-her-opinion-on-the-romanian-version-66373

The photoshopping isn't professional but it's enough to get the message across.

A surprising number of them actually don't deviate very far from the original image, which is what I found the most surprising but also the most refreshing part of the project. Argentina, the Philippines, and the US were the most jarring for me though I already know how absurd the US's beauty standard is.

ah yes, I saw that.
personally, I liked the original picture best, and all the versions of it with little make-up, no jewelry, and little/no deviation from the original face.
the one from India (which basically was the girl trimmed on Indian) looked also good, it just was a different person/ethnicity.
not sure why they thought she would automatically be prettier if she looked Indian, but hey.
darker skin at any rate works better to conceal blemishes, so less make-up needed.

The one where she was super-pale looked neat too, if not very natural.
I'm surprised this was supposed to be the German beauty standard however, because it's not.
I'd have expected a Japanese, Chinese or Thai photoshop to be that pale.

however, the US pictures were a freak show imo.
absolutely horrible, Frankenstein would approve.
