I already have most of the material for it except I'm trying to figure out the fluke part but other than that I'm just about good to go. The show isn't until Nov so I'm pretty confident to get this finished in time.

I still have some of the cassettes that came with the dolls as well as all my dolls, coloring books, find your fate books, toys, games, playsets, accessories and so on. I've also been collecting the new Integrity Toys dolls which are AMAZING!!! <3

When I was a kid I used to play the cassettes in my Teddy Ruxbin! Let me tell ya, Jem songs playing in that sucker when the batteries were running low was freeeeeaky as all hell! :lol:

Today I cut and reshaped my mahina, almost sliced my finger off during that process, made the pink tail and worked on the belt.

In the pic I just have the belt laying to show where it will sit when I have the tail on. It will be a separate piece.

Unfortunately I can't finish sewing up the belt until I get the long silver fringe that I ordered so it's just pinned in place...tormenting me. Ugh. Hate waiting. :eye twitch:

So looking at the Come On In reference photo, it looks to me like the very end of her tail, just before her fluke starts, looks like a scalloped design. I 'think' I may have an idea on doing this part (looking up sewing tutorials now) it looks like it might be tricky but yeah wish me mer-luck! Eep! =\

Last night before bed, I was prowling around on ebay looking for bracelets to match the ones in the Come On In reference photo and I think I found perfect matches for both. They've been ordered and now I just wait until they get here. So excited!

I also noticed that according to the tracking information, my long silver fringe should be delivered some time today! YAY! I'll be able to finish the belt part of the 2nd Jem tail! :dance:

That is a lovely drawing, the mask and wig are spot-on (you look just like Jem!), and that tail is looking more glam all the time.

Mermaid Dottie, I'm also glad that more and more people are coming to respect just how much better shows/franchises usually were in the 1980s! Sometimes I like to just watch one of those YouTube videos which collects cartoon openings from that era; even ones I never saw as a kid like Galaxy Rangers, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors look cool, and then there's the...well....

...is it improper for one such as I to use the term nostalgasm? For that is what the openings of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, Voltron: Defender of the Universe, Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light, Silverhawks: Amazingly There's No Subtitle, and of course Jem and the Holograms​ bring!

The Hobbit and Flight of Dragons most assuredly count! I just re-watched the opening of the latter a few months ago; it was rather clever, and one's gotta love James Earl Jones....

...Actually, in an interview Mr. Jones was asked who was the favourite among the villains he has played. He responded not with Darth Vader, but with Omaddon from Flight of Dragons! After all, not only does he get to ride his own dragon, but he also has that amazing speech in which he says, "I'll teach him to 'fly like a fairy'" under the most bad-arse circumstances imaginable!

This is how I make an accident work in my favor. As I was putting glitter paint on, I had accidentally dribbled a few small drops of glitter on it...SO I decided to go with it and I added small dots of glitter in purple, pink and blue! :eyebrows:

Purple is not easy to photograph but there is tiny 2mm light amethyst rhinestones running along the edge of all the purple strips, 3mm rhinestones encircling the blue and pink ovals, 3mm pink, purple and blue peppered all over and 3mm light amethyst along the scallop edging.

LOL! Yes, it was a very emotional moment, one I will never forget and will always cherish wholeheartedly. Everyone had tears, more so me of course, I was a freakin' hot pink balling mess! I even cried on the second day, though I did manage to keep it together a bit better, but yeah still had tears.:blush:
