Thanks, everybody! This is the first time I've ever colored my hair, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The color is Virgin Rose by special Effects. It harmonizes with my pink FinFun tail and the sequin top I'm making. I also bought some Velvet Blue, which I might try later. But I do love this magenta color!

I've gone a step further in my mermaid hair journey:

I love the result, but I find the dye doesn't stay in my hair for more than 2-3 weeks. Next stop: henna. (But I'll probably keep the blue ends.)

I definitely recommend going to LUSH for your henna! They have beautiful hues.

I read about Lush, and it did get great reviews. But in the end, I ordered some Red Raj and hibiscus powder from Henna Sooq. I want to stay with a burgundyish red, and hopefully avoid orangey tones.

I love it! A tip that I don't know why I mentioned earlier.... If you mix your blue dye into some conditioner and use that on the ends when you shower it's really going to help make it last.

Yes, I've actually been doing that. I'm thinking of letting the blue fade out to try bright red on the ends.

NO. NEVER DO STARFISH EARRINGS. I tried that and I ended up having to rip a huge clump of hair out because it all gets tangles around the legs of the starfish!
