View Full Version : Monofin - Adjusting Foot Pockets Help?

I've been wearing my monofin (Finis Rapid) for a while, but I'm finding I've got a pretty bad problem - My feet only fit into the pockets halfway.
If I push my feet into the pockets too far, I get really painful squeezing across the ball of my feet, to the point where I can't swim for the pain. My solution is to just push my feet in as far as I can (as I said, about halfway), and try to work with it, but it feels like I have to work a lot harder than I normally would to swim this way; the fin feels like a thing attached to my feet rather than an actual extension, and feels awkward sometimes.
My question was if anyone had any ideas on how to edit or expand the foot pockets so I could actually fit my feet all the way in, or should I just leave it as is and not risk ruining the monofin? Unless of course this is how it's supposed to work/feel? It's a tricky business; and even with a fin that costs less than $100, $60-70 is still an investment that I'd like to not repeat.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I should mention that I wear around a 10.5-11 Women's US, wide. I have pretty big flippers naturally :)
