It's been a while since I've had to introduce myself to a new community, but hi there – I'm Riley.

Merfolk have had to have been on my mind since I was very little. (my mom really likes to remind me on how adamant I was at three years old to have a functioning tail, even though I was just going to be sitting in a red wagon and get pulled around; she then likes to how grumpy I got when she made it so I could walk around if need be) I've always loved being in the water, to the point where sometimes it's hard to get me to leave it.

Wanting to be able to swim like the merfolk has been a reoccurring idea for as long as I can remember, but I've only now had the time and the luck to not be sick, so I'm working on building up my strength and swimming more and looking at getting a monofin. Eventually I'd like to get or make a tail if my strength keeps up (and I'm really hoping it will).

One thing that's kind of holding me back is gender dysphoria though... I don't really identify with either of the two 'normal' genders, so swimming in public has kind of been cut out of my life because I'm not comfortable with having a female body (and can't afford the surgery at this time to make it look a bit neutral). So I was wondering if there might be anyone out there with tips to help me mask my chest and make it look more neutral while swimming? I'm not too thrilled about taking a binder into the water, especially not a pool.

...Kinda got sidetracked, anyway. Hello again. I hope to be able to make some friends here.
