So most of the measurements I'm seeing on the list are pretty simple. The ones I'm having trouble with are the length ones involving ankles and how that translates into parts of the tail when you're using a monofin.
Waist to ankle: Does this match up to where the foot goes into the foot pocket of the monofin? Is it the front of the foot pocket, where the front of the monofin would hit the front of the ankle?
Waist to floor: Do I need to make the back of my tail slightly longer than the front? How do I turn a heel in silicone (I've done it while knitting socks but that's a whole different monster)?
I'm beginning to think that, once I've got the body of the tail made, I might need to find a way to suspend it from the ceiling so it hangs over the monofin and I can get everything positioned correctly.
Or, simpler, put it on and then stand in the monofin, but I have no idea how I'd pin things in place from that position...
