Story Idea resurrection

So a few years ago I had this idea while at my friend's cabin, this was a middle schoolers fantasy. And I've been thinking of renewing the idea.

Basically the original idea was these two girls who have the siren ability, however each mer-child has a different specialty. One of the sisters has the power to make people love her with her song, while the other as more of a lullaby effect. They would have a glow to them in their human form that indicates what they are that most people would just attribute to body shimmer.

It sounds good from your description, but what is the plot? Are they in danger of being discovered? Must they come to land to find some ancient lost mer-relic? Are they half human and want to find their human father and tell him the secret their mother kept from him (that they are all mermaids)?

It was a matter at that time that the sister who had the power to make others love her was causing a lot of ruckus and almost caused a frenzy which the other sister quelled by putting them all to sleep. Originally they lived with their human father, and the mother left, not being able to be away from the sea for too long
