Hey MerNetwork!

I am going to start making my first silicone tail! yay!
I'm so excited!

Anyways. I've been doing a lot of research on different techniques and materials that I should use.
in a lot of posts neoprene and neoprin were mentioned, neoprin I learned is out!
But when i started searching neoprene I can't find the information I need.

Is it a fabric you put the silicone over? or another resin needing to be shaped?
is it worth the hassel and money or should I just go with pure silicone?

Any other information would be VERY helpful :D

Thank-you for taking the time to read this over.:mermaid kiss:

Any latex based rubber inhibits curing of silicone, so you can't put platinum silicone directly on neoprene or it won't cure. Even having something like that in the same room with the silicone can cause it not to cure properly, or at all. Hybrid tails with neoprene and silicone, you have to mold the silicone first then adhere it to the neoprene with a special adhesive. It works with neoprin because neoprin is a filler and doesn't actually have any rubber in it. But adhering silicone scales to neoprene is tedious, which is why Merbella Studios takes such limited basic tail (neoprene + sllicone) orders, and they also take longer to make than performance tails (full silicone) becuase of that. Honestly from all I've heard it's a lot easier to make a full silicone tail.

Would Latex cure on neoprene?
Just wondering because the H2o has brushed something over a stretchy webing to create the base to glue their scales on.
