Minnesota/Wisconsin Mer Meetup - August 9, 2014

Hey, fellow Mers of the North ~

Mermaid Galene and Salty Stuart the Pirate are hosting a meetup at our home and the local swimming beach in Hudson, WI, on the east side of the Twin Cities metro area on Saturday, August 9, 2014. We'll gather at about 1:00 pm for lunch at Punchinello Prairie, our home surrounded by native prairie reconstruction. After lunch digests a bit, we'll head out to Hudson's swimming beach on the beautiful St. Croix, a National Scenic Riverway. There may be some local press coverage of our St. Croix swim! If weather prevents outdoor swimming, we can swim at a local rec center pool for $10 a head, or we can just hang out, or have a mini-concert by our fish+humans band, Neptune's Keep.

If you can attend, private message me here on MerNetwork for the address/directions, and let me know what you like to eat. We will cook a rotisserie chicken, but we can do a vegan dish, too, along with salad. I'm gluten intolerant, so we will have some gluten free bread. And there will definitely be chocolate! Feel free to bring a food dish to share (but not required).

Last I heard it's you, Mermaid Mika, Mermaid Coral_Sybil, Merman Dan and a few friends, Stu (my husband/pirate/mertender) and me. And our barky little pirate Papillon, Kian. I also invited Abby and Bryn, the FinFolk gals, but don't know if they can tear themselves away from their work.

We will have a gorgeous day for Twin Cities area Mer Meetup tomorrow! Picnic at 1:00 pm, followed by swimming in the beautiful St. Croix. Hope y'all can come!

Ok.....so bad news is that i wont be able make it out because I just cant get there and finish everything for my gig tonight and the gig has to come first... :(

We did have a great time! It was fun to chat about mer topics and to see everyones' tails. E Hudson Pier was a great place to swim as well. I can't wait to do this again. Thank you Mermaid Galene and her Pirate husband Stu!

With winter coming on, I was gonna loof for an indoor place to swim in the cities... I already swim at my ymca so I was going to start there.

Anyone interested in meeting up for a winter swim?
