My secret project is officially finished, and my wittle octopus friend is ready to hang out... on my face! It's goggles, no it's an octopus, no it's octopus goggles! He is very lightweight, made of silicone!

Not sure anyone would be interested, but I will probably make a pair to put up for sale on Etsy! I am also going to start making seaweed and seahorse goggles (with the seahorse hangin' out in the middle!

neat idea opens up lots of possibilities. I'd love to see coral/sea weed inspired ones too :D you may have found an untapped market.

After my chlorine eyes incident, I decided to decorate my two pairs of goggles for gigs. I have one finished:

The octogoggles are adorable! I can't wait to see the newer designs~ Especially the seaweed one!
Will you be offering them up for select colors or are you going to open up the option in the future for mers to order custom colors?
Also Mermaid Galene your goggles are cute! I love the starfish in the center.

I am making the seaweed one right now ( with a little coral "flower!") and I will be offering them in custom colors. The seaweed one is going to look much better than the octopus, I think, because I know how thick to sculpt/what exact shape to make now!

Love those googles! And I love the idea of a mermaid superhero. Now you just need a purple cape and a logo. And of course a theme song

After I tried on my goggles, I decided they needed more, so I added this stuff. Now I'm happy with them!

So I heard (and this is only a rumour) that Speedo is coming out with a new type of goggles that doesn't have a nose bridge. The idea is for it to be a fairly stable plastic ring that you wrap around your head, and there are two small lenses that stay on your eyes sort of like a loupe (you know, the little magnifying thing that archeologists and researcher put on their eyes). They are supposed to be VERY discrete. I do believe that may solve the mermaiding goggle problem!

This is a neat idea! Mermaid Crystal (Shimmer) made me a nice pair of goggles once. <3 To bad I can't use it anymore. :(

The little fish on my goggles has a freely movable tail. I'm really curious whether he will "swim" when I swim. But he's out of my field of vision when I'm wearing them, so I can't watch him to find out. Hmm. Conundrum.

Love all the goggles in this thread!
we need more mergoggles.
not only for pools, I'm not sure if I dare dive/tailswim without eye protection anywhere after all the incidents even in seawater lately.

I just hate going without goggles in general. Sure, I want people to see me as a magical mermaid, but I want to FEEL like a part of the sea, too, and that's hard to do when everything is just a giant blur!

These are amazing!!! I'd definitely buy a pair of some sort depending on the price! :D A sea fan would be super cool to do... kinda a crown looking thing too. ;)

Same!
I wish the dive contact lenses were available, but they have somehow vanished after their development
(maybe the military has them under wraps, they give a serious advantage over normal dive masks).
Currently, I close my eyes during performances, but it's truly scary, and I've hit myself countless times and even injured myself badly once, so it kinda sucks (but no one wants to see a waterspirit with goggles either).

Very cool, Lunette! I'm fairly pleased with my decorated goggles and will wear them at gigs. But I will want to take them off when my head's above water and I'm talking to kids. I'm thinking I'll clip them to my mer belt so they'll be handy.
I love this idea... And I especially like the seaweed preview!
I currently have some silly holographic kids' goggles, because they're cute... But so very NOT mermaid-like, LOL! I like being able to use my eyes, so no opening them in chlorine for me!

Is it just me or does anyone else think these make you look like a mermaid superhero? *gasp*! That sounds like the BEST idea for a photo shoot. Quick someone write that down and someone else get in their tail we have photos to take!
