I don't exactly have the money to throw into a monofin. So I'm following a tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkNbJiMceqw) in how to make one out of ducktape. And I absolutely fell in love with the fabric I'm using.

Congrats on getting the material to get started on your tail! Do you have any basic design on what you plan on it looking like? I'd love to see a concept.

Wait!! Try this instead! Gorilla tape. I have a monofin extension made out of gorilla tape and it's awesome. Also, get some awesome jumbo zip ties from Home Depot and use them to stiffen the whole thing as like a skeleton. Regular duct tape will fall apart in water but I've never had that problem with mine

Actually that's what I bought instead by accident. That's what the black tape is :) so this works out.
As for the pattern I have an idea how I want it to look, but I'm not sure if this material will work with me

Good! Just make sure you make all the edges really sturdy :)

That fabric is awesome! Just an idea, but are you pretty good with a sewing machine? That fabric pattern would look super cool if, once you sew it together, you put some solid fabric stripes on the sides. It would make a really nice contrast from the crazy patterns to a solid.
