Can I paint my fabric tail with fabric spray paint?

I am getting the fabric for a tail I am making soon and I was curious if I could use fabric spray paint to paint it? I think I have heard a while ago that it fades :/ If that's the case should I get a fabric sealant spray? Help please!

As for regular spray paint I wouldn't recommend it on stretch fabric; it will crack & fade.

I used fabric paint on my first fabric tail, but not the spray kind. It is called setacolour. It has held up fairly well. I also used acrylic paints and sprayed the whole thing with silicone sealer. I still have to touch up the paint every 4-5 swims though.
I find the paint I used is elastic enough to stretch with the fabric so it doesn't crack, extending its life.
