I'm halfway through doing my first fluke and I have no idea what the ideal thickness is for it! Right now I'd say I have maybe six thin layers of latex for one side of the fluke...how many painted-on layers should I be shooting for? I'm using monster maker sfx latex, cuz hot damn do I love their shiz.

I want to be sure I get it to the correct thickness before demolding it and starting on the back side mold. I don't want it to tear in the water (or in the hands of small children!) Any advice? I looked everywhere on the forums cuz i thought someone mentioned it before, but I can't find the thread! :O

I'm not too sure either, I've been guesstimating based on peoples unboxing videos.

My Finfolk fluke was pretty darn thick. Maybe as thick as my index finger, or even a little thicker.

EDIT: I have tiny hands, lol.

Hmm! Then I DEFINITELY need to use more latex. XD Thanks so much, that helps a ton!!
