Hi! I am new to mermaiding and I really would like to have some advice on how to become a professional mermaid and mermaiding in general. Right now I have a fabric tail and hope to start saving up for something better. I would really like to do parties and entertain people. Thanks!

Hello!
If you have a tumblr, I run mermaids-101 (https://www.tumblr.com/blog/mermaids-101) and offer advice for new mermaids. Raina's book is probably the best resource out there aside from browsing the internet. I would also suggest getting together with other local mers and learning hands on!
I notice you picked the same mermaid name as me, haha.

My book can be found on my website www.halifaxmermaids.com under book and merch. I also have loads of resources on my website under how to be a mermaid. :)

I gotta agree with the above posts, her book is super informative. I'm just starting out as well and currently reading Raina's book. It's proven to be a big help. I'm hoping to accomplish the same thing you are. Send me a message and maybe we can work together on making our mermaid dreams a reality :D

Raina's book is a great way to understand how to get into mermaiding. I will tell you that it doesn't happen over night and you do have to work hard to get your name out there and be recognized, but persistence pays off!!
