I am a huge ren faire nerd and go several times a season. They always have themed weekends and one of those is pirates!
This year, the pirate themed weekend is September 6th and 7th. I thought it would be cool to have a meetup on one of those days. There are ponds in the park, but I don't think swimming is allowed. There's a nice area that is permanently pirate themed that would be good for photos. I would recommend walking tails/costumes, but there are lots of grassy areas to laze around in tail and pose for pictures too. Here are there events listed for that weekend:

Pirate Weekend
Pirate Parade and Contest:
Get ready to flaunt your stuff! Join us for our Pirate Parade, where Pirates young and old, big and small, can show off their pirate attire walking through the shire. This grand parade is bound to make a splash, ending in the Ultimate Pirate Costume Contest and Pirate Float Competition!
Time of Parade: 12pm

Float Competition:
The New York Renaissance Faire is proud to present the first annual Float Competition. Participants will build their own floats and have the opportunity to show them off during our Pirate Parade.
Floats should not exceed 4ft in width, 6ft in Height, and 4ft in length. They may not be motorized and must be home made. The float creator must be able to push, pull or carry his or her own float. The theme of the Float Competition is “Pirate Promenade”. Floats will be judged on originality, relevance to theme, and overall appearance.

ARRRRE you the funniest pirate that ever sailed the 7 seas? Climb on stage and tell your best pirate joke. The joke that receives the loudest applause and laughter wins!

The Great Treasure Snatch:
The Barbarians have stolen our Treasure and it is up to us to snatch it back! Join the Captain in a grand adventure to creep into the Barbarian Encampment, find the treasure, and sneak it back to safety! This activity is recommended for pirates between 4-12 years of age.

Where’s Polly?
The Captain has lost her parrots; can you find all of them throughout the shire? Take a map and place an “X” where you see the sneaky birds hidden all over the faire grounds!
