So I bought vinyl to extend my mono fin. I haven't cut it yet, but I have held to up to the monofin, and it creases and flops over. I don't think it will stay up. I am think about cutting it four thicknesses, but looking at it I don't think it would help. Could I use duct tape to keep it from creasing?

Vinyl is probably not going to work as an extension; its too soft and pliable. You could sandwich zipties between two layers however, or just use zip ties and GORILLA tape (not duct tape) like others have used.

I read on a forum that it would work.

You do understand that the vinyl won't add any extra propulsion right?

Well yes, if you use plain vinyl it is going to flop, that's what soft vinyl does. That's more for extending for the "flowy" look, not for propulsion.

If you want less flop you could try combining both methods! Industrial size Zip ties and vinyl covered in gorilla tape! Don't be afraid to experiment

I just wanted it so I could have a cool shaped fluke. :) I don't know what I am going to do. With the gorilla tape do I have to drill hole in the fin? Or just tape it a ton?

You can get a flat sheet of rubber as well and attach it.
