I'm assuming you didn't leave a seam allowance to just open it up and reseam?
if you have enough sequins and scrap neoprene you could add a little to each side.
The nice thing about having sequins covering your fabric is the seams should be pretty invisible.

Measuring yourself is hard! I think I went through 6 yards of fabric making my first tail. Is the seam allowance enough that you can open it up and use the neoprene cement to glue it instead?

I think the problem may lie in the method...you traced yourself instead of measuring. I did a spandex tail and after measuring twice myself I ended up getting my mother to measure me and her numbers were closer to accurate. I still had to take my tail in after swimming because of how loose it gets in water.

You can trace yourself with stretchy fabric, like 4 way stretch strong Lycra cause it REALLY stretches. But neoprene doesn't had enough stretch typically to be able to do that. At least from my experience. It's better to take measurements and plot them out the old fashioned way. Sorry about your difficulties :/ Hope you can fix it!

Seconding what everyone else said, tracing only works with super 4 way stretchy fabric as it only allows for your side to side measurement and doesn't take into account your front to back. As in the measurement would be accurate if you were flat. ;)
Hope you can fix it!
