So, i'd like to show you the first pictures of my first tail project.
After years of planning my latex tail, a few weeks ago, while swimming in the sea, i decided to start a faster and cheaper version, for the beginning.
The monofin is waiting since 2011 for its mission, so i just had to look for a suitable fabric.
Not that easy like i thought. Most lycra kinds are either to thin or the design is anything but pretty.
So i found a nice stretch-leather fabric (of course in black!). Perfekt.
It was the last piece, so the fluke has a seam in its middle :/ ... well, somehow i like it- it has the charme of Frankensteins monster.

The tail is not ready, yet. And it is not realistic enough,to me. And I will add transparent sequins and more sew-on stones and maybe more silver paint....

If you have any tips, they are very welcome!

( and still: if my english is wrong please correct me! )

So here it is ( unfortunately, the pictures are'nt that great :( )

Wow, thank you so much for your response!

Rebekah, i did the print on that bra with my fingers ._.
and the print on the tail is done with the net from the bag (i cut out a piece) of the monofin.

Thank you, Raina!

Later today i will start to add the transparent sequins. I just tried the whole set and i can't wait to "jump" into the water @_@

I hope its not real leather cos it will shrink.

No! Of course it is not. I do not even know how i should move in a leather tail ô_o
Like i wrote: it's stretch-leather. so its a kind of lycra but with an leather optic.

Oh. Sounds nice, never heard of that type of lycra. Looking forward to seeing the end product.

So... i was lazy.
By knowing that this will be, like i said, just the prototype tail, i felt like sewing sequins would be to much effort.
So i just stamped more "scales" with the last rest of my paint. Pictures will follow, the next days.

But i did something else:
23779
23780
23781

Now i am waiting for my silver and transparent latex to make some experiments *madscientistlaugh*

Cute! You need to coat the seahorse in waterproof glaze or resin before going swimming. Otherwise it will start to rot and be very smelly. And the seashell too, but I can't if its a real one or fake.

Certainley the Seahorse is fake. I have a real one (very old) but i would never take it into the water @_@
