I'm about to start making my sencond tail, this time with neoprene. I've seen 2 different glues for putting the 2 sides together, e6000 (which Hannah Fraiser says to use on her sight) and Sealing Cement, which I find on here often. Which one is better? Any pros and cons to them? I would sew them together as well anyway.

I know that you can buy smaller tubes of e6000, but I'm not sure about the Sealing Cement. I would probably try a small patch of each of them, then do some tests, if you don't get any responses. Maybe your small test pieces (depending on how much excess neoprene you have at your disposal) can be made into doll sized tails so that you can turn one or both into gifts after you're done with them as test pieces.

The instructions on my bottle of sealing cement have you paint it on the surfaces to bond, wait five minutes, paint another coat, wait ten minutes, and then press the surfaces together. So waiting time may be a con - the instructions for E600 just say "let cure for 5-10 minutes before bringing surfaces together"

The sealing cement is also black, so if you're using colored neoprene you do need to be careful not to let it bleed over the edges.

A big pro is that it comes in a bottle with a brush, so you don't have to worry about the tube clogging the same way that E6000 does.

I'm using sealing cement and really like it. It may just be a matter of personal preference rather than one being better than the other.

The best bet on glueing neoprene is seal cement by M essentials. It is just made for glueing neoprene.
