Introduction, and are there any mermaids from the north?

Hello there! My name is Varga, and I've been lurking around in awe in the shady waters around where all you beautiful mermaids and mermen swim. Now I'm finally taking the swim towards joining you all and the first "flip" is introducing myself. Hope this is the right place to do so.

I live in cold Stockholm, Sweden, so first of all I'm wondering - are there any other mermaids/men from the northen countries here?

Since I can remember I've been in love with the water, and grew up by the sea. My grandfather always took me fishing and a few times every summer we would take the boat out to some small random island and I'd be swimming in the waters all day, always holding my legs together, pretending to be a dolphin - or a mermaid.
Now I'm 23 years old, I work as a part time burlesque fire performer, part time SEO consultant. I like standing in front of the camera and always has, and I've just started taking real singing lessons since I love to sing but don't really know how to use my voice. Other than this, I'm really into the environment and have a thing for wolves (my name acctually means "she wolf" in swedish).

Nice, I've always wanted to go to Canada - I have family there, in Alberta :) So in other words there are mermaids swimming in cold waters as well?

Aah, freezing! But well, being a northern mermaid I guess you just have to evolve some kind of way to cope with the cold... :p

i'm from the north :P the true north strong and free lol not where raina lives but a pew provinces over.

I haven't really found other mers in Sweden, we've hade like two users here from Sweden, but they're not active any longer. I travel up to Stockholm quite often, my boyfriend lives there.
I thought there might bubble up some more since the exposure Mertailor got in the Swedish media, (he was in the "Berg & Meltzer in Amerika"-show if you haven't watched it) but apparently not.

only in certain spots it's super cold. if you go further out it's slightly warmer :)

I live in Southern Finland in the general region of the capital. I'm surprised that I haven't found a single other merperson in my region and so far I've only found, on Mernetwork, one other mer from the same country and she lives pretty far away...

But enough of my ranting. Hope you'll love it here, Varga. We sure need more of them Nordic mers..
