... aaaaand I just lost my whole post. I hate touch screens (working off a tablet), I really tuely do.

OKAY! That said, I'm stupid poor and slow at construction of anything! :) Which will make this the slowest of slow tail making threads!

Huzzah!

So after, roughly, a month of research into making my own monofin (the majority being suggestions to buy a monofin and then modify it, which to me isnt really MAKING your own), I decided to use lexan (the generally accepted as suitable for a monofin variety) and ... duct tape.
Because of the Mythbuster's Duct Tape boat.
Yup.
You hearing banjos yet? :P

My redneckery aside, I'd like some help with ways to secure this contraption to my peds. :/
Also, ran out of duct tape ... many sads.

Pictures of the planned fabric tail to follow ... eventually. I work a metric ton, at both of my jobs. Dx

That fluke same is awesome! And Idk how u would attach it to your feet, cuz u can't have straps pulling the ductape...
Maybe if ur straps ha email hooks and u put small holes in ur monofin? I did that as an experiment for mine :3 good luck in the making!

If the duct tape fails try gorilla tape :)

Thanks for the ideas Rebekah.fish! :D
But I've got to ask, what did you mean to write instead of 'email' hooks?

That makes a lot more sense now. :) And sounds like an excellent idea!

I was thinking of using some industrial strength velcro, and an epoxy adhesive, glued to the sides and back of the foot pockets.

Nothing much to post, but I finished the duct tape reinforcement (mainly to keep the foot pockets in place).

Ok so I have made a duck tape mono fin in my past as well. Well it will work good for the first many 5 swims but then the duck tape begins to break down and the fins go all wonkey so just a fair warning I'd you are going to use this tail a lot leve the bottom open so you can 're duck tape it
