Yes Yulia, the swirly dreamy tail is fabric and silicone and it's a great little tail but like fabric it clings to your legs out of the water so you can see your legs, but if that doesn't bother you it's a cheaper option ;)

Yes it is a second top fin and there is also another on the bottom so it's super flowy like a beta and I like your colour suggestion :D thanks xx

It turned out so beautiful and we will test it out tonight at mermaid training :D

Remember that Mernation also does this, they call it a "gap wrap". I guess theirs is full dragonskin-silicone and Fifi does neoprene/silicone. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

It's about 50/50 with the design process.
Some clients have their design drawn and are very pacific on it looking exactly like the drawing.
Others have kind of an idea what they want but need a little bit of help to bring it to life ;)

Zipper worked fine but I just need to figure out how to stop it unzipping! haha

Mermaid Enora found a way to keep the zipper put. I looked it up here is a quote from her sequin tailmaking topic:

I did make a key for the zipper. The zipper requires a kinda stop start zipping to get it closed. The fins also have a tendency to get in the way. Holding onto the 1in zipper pull behind my knees while pulling was really putting a strain on my hand so I tied a loop of ribbon onto a locking hook that can clip onto the hole in the endow the zipper pull and it works great. I also have a large hook and eye clasp at the very top of the zipper. I can't reach that to hook it on my own that requires help. My mom is really good at getting it hooked quickly. After the hook is fastened the zipper key can be unclipped and put away somewhere safe.

Not sure where Fifi gets her from by I get mine from Linkron it's about $50 per sheet which is 1.2x x 2m in most cases ( I know it's 2m but I'm going from memory for the other dimension)

Ive made quite a few now and have had one problem with the silicone I use which is one split just at the waist will occur, not huge or anything but enough to be annoying. I've worked out a solution to it now which is the waist must be a stiffer fabric if going for a neoprene base. Otherwise the whole tail can be fabric base which is thinner, stronger and dries faster!
I will take some pictures of all my tails that are still being used regularly by very rough children every week and are still staying together even after a year of abuse ;)

So as you can see the material tail is way stronger and this tail has been over rocks, rivers, ocean, pools and sand!
The waist has never split and the tail hasnt got one scratch :D

I'm making some travel tails at the moment which are for photography only and they just have a pocket for the feet.
The starry Night tail is very easy to put on because it has no straps so your feet slot straight in and Emily had no trouble swimming in it as you can see in the video ��

Now if only Tigg made custom monofins! Cos that's what I really want right now. And I don't want to go through the hardships of trial and error of trying to make two different ingredients be friends with each other.:lol:

Pro monofins are too much for me right now. I'm content with using the softer and smaller monofins like the Foil and Mirage. But not so the Mirage, as it hasn't stretched and hurts my left foot too much. Which is why I'm looking at making a monofin slightly bigger than the Mirage but smaller than an adult merfin.

Haha I'm not attempting custom monofins. I'm happy to use any monofin that is deemed safe ;)
My shooter monofin arrived today so I will be trying that out to see how it goes.
From my experience with a few different monofins, I do prefer the foot pockets that do not have adjustable straps because they always come loose or break!
My favourite at the moment is the competitor monofin, no blisters, no slipping and fits my feet like a glove :D

Are you talking about the competitor monofin? I saw a thread on here earlier where a Mermaid took a competitor monofin and cut away some of it to look more like a Mermaid tail shape. If you don't feel confident to do it yourself I'm sure some other friendly Mers would be able to help.

I wouldn't even know what else to try haha! I have a foil, which pinches, and a Finis Rapid which squeezes my feet. I'm hopeful that the merfin has some give since it's rubber. Plus I'd use socks with it. I checked the foot pocket dimensions and in theory, it should just fit lol.

It varies. Usually a 10 for sneakers or sandals, but if I want nice shoes like heels I need a size 12.

Woah! I've been dreaming of a color change tail for a long time! I want to get one to match my pet Cichlid (the only one left in my tank from the original group of six. He has been around almost five years now!). He changes from bright yellow to pale blue depending on time of day and mood :) If I can't figure out how to make a tail like that on my own I guess I know who to contact and get a tail from ;)

Once I finish my current orders I will only be making tails for my photography business because I just don't have the time anymore.
My photography business 'Busselton Mermaids' is my passion and I want to see it grow.

It's been slow going due to the crazy weather we have been having, but this tail is coming along nicely and I'm loving the double hip fins :D
