I am SO proud of him! Merwrangler Sean decided to try Christomer's mertailor tail. It was a little short for him, but mostly fit and he gave it a whirl. He struggled with the dolphin kick because his feet kept popping out lol but he managed to give it a try and told me he had a whole brand new appreciation for how hard it is to take a tail off and on, tail swim, and then to actually give rides and entertain haha. I am so proud of him for trying. He looked really good in it too.

Here's some video and photos!

I have seen a LOT of mertailor tails both online and in person. Many aren't up to my standards, but this tail was lovely. Chris was using it earlier on rocks putting it on and dragging himself around and the paint didnt scrape or chip or anything. I was impressed. It also was very durable and went on very easy and off. (I tried it on and gave it a swim too. A bit big for me but it was fun). The photos don't do the colours justice. It was a nice tail.

Don't get too excited though. While he'll probably go for a swim in a tail at NCmerfest, Sean has no plans of being a performing merman anytime soon. hehe he's shy!

I am hoping though now to get a beautiful photo of the two of us from Susan Knight at NCMerfest.

Sean is so courageous. Taking his first swim in a silicone tail not made to his measurements, having difficulties dolphin-kicking AND having it all documented on photo and video while being shy deserves a whole lot of respect!

By the way, he did really good for his first try. Did he ever swim with a monofin before?

How cool! What a great mer moment for you two to share. My hubby/mertender, Stu, is just not comfortable in water. He will suck it up and go in for snorkeling, but he'll never be a mer, lol! That's okay. He's a great mertender and a nifty pirate.

Looking good! I especially liked the photo of you two together and the shot of everyone holding hands and swimming together.

Seeing you both as mers makes me think of a photo with the theme of " Mer courtship" and him handing you not a bundle of seaweed but something.... whatever you think Mers would use to court eachother or propose to eachother with (if their culture had that concept). I think that would be adorable~

Raina! I love this! Way to go Merwrangler Sean! I think Sean did a great job; especially being in someone else's tail. It's a very beautiful tail. I hope to be half as good as Sean when I take my tail I just got for it's first swim. I'm sure you're very proud of him! It must have been a real eye-opener to don a tail. He works so closely to them, but now truly understands what it en-tails. (HA! See what I did there) What a neat way for you both to find a new way to relate to one another. And that photo.. an amazing depiction of Mer-Love. Just beautiful!

he's not interested in mermaiding. He just wanted to try it for the experience. He'll still be my merwrangler :)

My husband has a monofin that I bought him but I doubt he'll ever get a full tail.

I haven't seen this until just now! That's awesome Sean! :jawdrop: Kudos on trying something like that. Getting new experiences can be fun but also a bit nervous. You did great and it was so exciting to see!
