Hi everyone. I've had a lot of people ask me if I'm going to sell signed copies with a photo print again this year for my new book. Last year I found it really difficult, because I ended up paying a lot out of pocket with all the shipping back and forth.
This year, I was thinking if I took pre-orders, it would make it easier for me to get the right amount of books to myself (and cheaper on that end) so I could send them out without it costing as much. I'm also going to include a smaller print (but still lovely) so it fits in smaller packaging etc and just helps keep the cost at a reasonable level.
The prices I am thinking are this:
Buy the book from the publisher- 20$ (2$ of that will got to charity) for paperback, and 10$ for ebook. That's CAD so it's likely less in USD and many other places.
Buy a signed copy from me with a print- 30$ (same as last year), or if you'd like a tracking number 36$ (to cover the extra fees I have to pay for international tracking) to anywhere in North America. If you're international I'll charge a flat rate of 40$ and if there's anything left over (as the tracking price will vary) it will be donated to the charity my book is sponsoring.
By posting in this thread YOU ARE NOT committing to pre-ordering. I just want to get a sense of if people WOULD pre order. otherwise, I don't think I'll go the signed book route as it isnt very cost effective in small bursts and it's hard to front that sort of money.
