I started a Kickstarter project to help me raise the money to make my own silicone mermaid tail - I only have ONE WEEK left and I'm still super far off my goal!
So I was wondering if there were any mers out there that fancy pledging a donation - there are lots of lovely perks!
I had been saving up the money to make my tail - but I recently found out that I'm going to America! The accommodation is paid for but I still need money for everything else - flights, food, attractions etc so unfortunately my 'tail find' has had to turn into my 'America fund' instead!
So I thought, I might as well ask! :D
Here's a link to my kickstarter campaign if you'd like to check it out - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1741180017/real-mermaid-tail-assist-me-in-becoming-a-mermaid
If I do get the money I will record the whole process - so they'll be a lovely complete silicone mermaid tail tutorial for all to see!
Fingers crossed I actually get to make it! :money:
Much love to the whole mer community!

Why do you have Mertailor's and Finfolk Tails? I think it would be much better if you had your own designs, then people can see that you're actually genuine and not some scammer.

That's a good idea! I do have my own design but it's not coloured yet - I'll colour it and post it as an update :)
I don't understand why people would think it's a scam? But I might be being nieve - so I will definitely get my design up there asap thanks :) xx

It might be because you used other tail makers photos as yours. Then new people might think you make the tails in those photos and want one of their own, only to find out disappointment when yours isn't exactly the same as the ones depicted on your page.

Just keep in mind that the mermaid community is a poor place to advertise stuff like this. So many people are saving up for their own dream tails and don't have the funds to donate. Also, what other tails have you made? What experience do you have working with materials like silicone? If people feel like you capable of taking on such a task, they are more likely to believe in your cause.

Ahh I see! Yes that wasn't my intention at all, I was just trying to show anyone who didn't know what silicone tails are an example of some fantastic tails that are out there :)
But yes I'll get my design on there! :) xx

I know that - and of course I wasn't expecting anyone to donate! I just thought, it's a community for mermaids - and it's a mermaid project, it wasn't going to hurt to share.
I made a lot of spandex tales when I was younger - I don't have experience working with silicone yet. But I have read every single tutorial on the internet and I stated very clearly in my kickstarter campaign that it might all go horribly wrong! But unfortunately at the moment I don't have the money for the experiment, which is what crowdfunding is all about!
I wasn't trying to be cheeky or rude by posting my campaign on here, so please don't take it that way. It's just a community for mermaids and aspiring mermaids alike - so I didn't think it would do any harm :$
