It took me about three weeks, but I finally made my first tail! I purchased 3mm neoprene with nylon bonded on both sides from amazon.com along with some thick nylon upholstery thread. I then purchased a thick curved embroidery needle at my local craft store, as well as some water proof fabric paint. I hand sewed my tail, since my singer couldn't handle the thick fabric, I also purchased my monofin from amazon.com. It took a lot of sewing hours, since I suck at hand sewing, but it was so worth it! I tried it out for a test run a few hours ago, and though I was a little off on my upper torso measurements, it went wonderfully!! I'm so glad I've begun my journey to becoming a professional mermaid!
