I have found a pretty sweet deal on a large acrylic tank that is 8'x2'x2'. I wanted to find out from other mers who have tanks what are the dimension share ya'lls tanks? And is it worth having a tank? What is the care and maintence? Do you charge and what do you charge? Do you heat the water? How long does it take to fill up your tanks and drain them? Is it more of a hassle then it is worth??? Anyone with any information I would love to hear the good bad ugly!!!

That would seem extremely small.

Do a search for acrylic or tanks in the bar, we've had plenty of discussions on this that I know will help you out a lot quicker. :D

2 foot high and wide doesn't sound like enough to me at all though and I'm really small :P. Otherwise, I don't have anything else to offer on the subject.

2 foot high and 2 foot wide would not be enough for most sized flukes and be very very cramped.

If you don't get that tank, I am so putting fish in it :) (probably not, but it's nice to dream)

If it's the same tank that I'm thinking of, the dimensions were 96 x 24 x 30 (inches)

With all tanks, the most important thing is bottom support, but this is even more important with acrylic tanks. The entire bottom must be supported or you risk the seam coming loose and the tank "bottoming out." Your stand must be able to support the entire weight of the tank, including the water (8.34 pounds per gallon). Even though acrylic is 17 times stronger than glass, it is prone to scratching. The good news is that scratches can be buffed out pretty easily.

I believe that Trina's tank is similar dimensions (Slightly larger).

Ooh, I actually kind of like the smaller tanks... Looks like a captive mermaid someone hasn't put in a bigger tank yet (or doesn't care to)! Ever since I saw the PotC mermaids, I've been wanting that little casket-tank... Plus, smaller tanks are so much easier to fill/empty, haha!

On a side note, I think I know where Trina got her tank... apparently a "family member" of my mertender's has a son who makes big-ass professional tanks for aquariums and such, and I guess he has worked with Trina... Which is kind of cool, actually, and I wish there was a way I could get in contact with him without having to deal with the "family member". I'd love a tiny tank to get my fins wet in - I could fill something like Trina's little tank from my kitchen sink!

Yup I just measures my fluke and at the widest it is 33". 2 ft deep I can deal with but I think the 2ft wide is my biggest problem. I would hate to look like a big over sized fish in a cramped tank!!! And OMG I totally forgot about I would need a stand that could hold all this??? Oh wow then I would need a flat best trailer too.......I don't think my horse would want to share his trailer with a tank????? Ok now that I have have time to sleep on it I think I may have to continue thinking about this.........aaaaaaahhhhhhhh I just thought of one more issue....where to store it???? I need to think a bit further ahead!!!! Thank you everyone for grounding me ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

What are the recommended dimensions for a traveling tank? I was thinking 8' long, 4' high, and 3' wide. I have no idea if this would be near correct or not.
