Hey Everyone,
Just wanted drop by and say that I and Prairie Mermaid Jamie met up this morning in her city of Red Deer and I would say the first mer-meet for Alberta. Mermaid Jamie made a couple calls to pools in her city and she found one that both of us could to one that would allow tails. So this morning I made the quick 1 hour drive north to her city and met up first to buy goggles for swimming. Then headed over to the pool. The lifeguards were really interested and asked a few questions. We had the privilege of using the diving tank only. It was pretty awesome to have all that water to swim in and practice tricks without the thought of hitting the bottom. After they saw us that both of us could swim they really just checked in on us every so often. One of them had a lifeguard friend who was interested in mermaids and she took a picture of both our tails. We even had one young girl come over along with her mother. Everyone seemed to be cool with it. I will also mention that Prairie Mermaid Jamies tail was having problems with the straps on her monofin but I will leave the details to her to explain. Overall it was a fantastic experience and plan on making the journey up there to meetup anytime that we both want to stretch our fins weather and life pending.
Since I forgot my waterproof camera in the car I couldnt take any photos or video but I am pretty sure next time there will be photos/videos to post.
