Hello my fellow mers.:surrender: I need your help. My Homecoming dance is next Saturday and I am going dress shopping this Saturday. My mother had to bribe me to go. I am socially awkward and I don't have a date :(. Anyway The good news is she bribed me with silicone!!!!! That's right I am making myself a silicone mermaid tail!!! Yay! The bad news I know nothing about dresses so I was hoping for dress tips and styles. Please post some pics down bellow and other advice.
:mermaid kiss:Thanks everyone.

When it comes down to dresses, go with what works for you. I was VERY much like you at your age, kicked out of all social circles and dateless. I never liked to stand out much, so I'd suggest what we females call the traditional LBD (little black dress). It can be any type of little black dress, it just has to be black and cute. That way, you aren't underdressed nor overdressed for this event. You can get your big, glittery cocktail dresses or ballgowns for prom when that comes around. This is just a little party about a football game. Humor your mom and have a little bit of fun with some random people at school for a little bit.

Yeah, for homecoming I'd suggest a knee length or tea length (mid calf) dress. I wouldn't spend more than $50.
Something like this (http://t.jcpenney.com/tablet/jsp/browse/pp/product.jsp?Ntt=&ppId=pp5004470552&categoryId=cat1004110002&subcatId=&deptId=dept20023450025®Id=&cmcatId=cat100530005¤tDim=&dimCombo=¤tDimVal=&dimComboVal=&grMode=&Nao=24&pN=2) would be great because you can wear it for other events like a birthday dinner or Christmas party.

I little black dress is always a timeless classic. The important part is to have fun!

Sad to say every dance I was ever forced to go to with my friends, I had only 2 people accompany dress shopping. 1)My older brother who abosilutely hates shopping, it's a guarenteed get in get out trip if he drives. 2) My HIGHLY gay guy friend, truthful and won't let me settle. Best results for dresses for size, price, and choices was Dillards.
