Hello mers! It's been forever since I've been on here. Anyway I'm currently making a new lexan Monofin to make a tail and I was wondering if instead if using swim fin booties to put on if you could use water shoes?

Or what about latex or silicone socks?

I do believe WaterLilly used water shoes in making her lexan fin.

"I made my lexan monofin with foot pockets made from water shoes. I took a dremel and drilled identical holes into the shoes and lexan and sewed them on with parachute cable. They have yet to come off. Waterlilly, Mermaid of the Lakes."

I used watershoes at first for my lexan fin. It worked ok, but I would get terrible footcramps because the watershoes don't hold your feet as firmly as flippers would, so my feet would bend too much. It worked out ok for a little while, but I was constantly stalking ebay for a better choice. I finally found a pair of zoomers for cheap, and they work much better. So i guess what I'm saying is, go ahead and do it, it'll work for now, but keep your eyes open for a cheap upgrade :)
