Yes, I made it out of polymer clay, and then painted it to resemble your purple tail. :)
The pearly thing is a headdress, you can adjust the size!

Sigh... ok... I have to confess... I'm a terrible Secret Santa.

I completely forgot that the gift had to be sent out by December 1st (even though it was right there in the first post here)... in my defense, working five jobs and the holidays and NC Merfest preparation and family craziness have had me a little distracted lately. But that's an explanation, not an excuse.

After hearing back from Mernetwork Secret Santa via email, asking whether I'd sent my gift or not, and replying in the negative and kicking myself for forgetting, I stayed up late last night to work on the design and construction for the gift, and managed to get it done... only to run out of time getting it to the post office today. I will drop by a (hopefully less busy and more helpful) post office tomorrow and ship it out (and of course, my recipient is overseas, adding to my offense.. sigh).

That said, I'm pleased with how it turned out, hope she likes it (I used her favorite animals in the design), hope she shares pictures when she gets it, and hope it arrives before Christmas.

- a nice card with what looks like the Rainbow Fish on it with a nice message to me, which is going on my mantle with the holiday cards.

- another beautiful card, this one blank with some colorful seahorses on it nodding to some of my favorite animals.

- an amazing stuffed animal plesiosaur, my favorite marine prehistoric reptiles. I have named him Thankyou (ThanQ? Thenkyu? I haven't quite decided on the spelling yet), playing off the "please" sound in "plesiosaur" for "Please and Thank You" and he is lovable and cuddly and awesome!

Its a little silverish bracelet that looks like coral pieces accented with starfish, and a necklace thats blue and has a small heart on it. I love love love them! I own another necklace that has dolphins in the silver and gold like that bracelet so it matches perfectlyyyyyyy. Unfortunately, the nature of Australia is that many of us live out in the middle of nowhere. The councils don't provide us with a mailbox when we're 10 kilometres from a main road :P

Thanks, Enora! I'm just starting to explore the faery world and loving it. I've got a couple pairs of wings on order from Etsy to go with my upcoming new tail themes. I'm really excited about adding faery costuming, flight, etc, to my mermaid naturalist programs. As a water faery mermaid I can now take the kids into lessons about birds and insects and wetlands as well as larger aquatic habitats. Not to mention dragonflies and dragons! The faery world offers so much lush imagery and inspiration for my songwriting. My new persona as Mermaid Galene, Water Faery Naturalist, is really letting me soar!

I have received confirmation from everyone BUT TWO PEOPLE. However, both of these people's Secret Santas have confirmed that they have sent out their gifts. I've sent a bunch of messages, but haven't gotten any replies back. Also these two people did confirm that they sent out their gifts so they're not in trouble or anything. I just wish they'd answer their emails...

If you have sent me a mail, it might have been buried in my other box and I cleared it without looking at it. :doh:

I spoke to the post office and they didn't have it. I spoke to my landlord as well and he hasn't heard or seen anything. In my building, the security is terrible. One mailbox do not have a door because it has been damaged and the one under mine is broken with a giant hole where anybody can steal the piles of letters inside :(

People are complaining but there isn't much we can do. I can't wait to move out because I dislike the situation.

Theta had generously sent me another gift in lieu of the first arriving, so now I get to wait excitedly for that, too! The whole situation is kind of a bummer but I can't say I'm disappointed, haha!
