Hi from New Zealand!

Hello! I'm a long time lurker, finally coming out into the open.

My name's Courtney and I've been hanging around here since I found out mermaiding was a thing, almost a year ago.
Obviously I'm from New Zealand, and I'm a total aquaphile; in summer if I'm not in the water swimming or scuba diving, im on the water sailing. Even my studies at university of biology had a marine focus.

Before discovering the online mer community, I had never dreamed of having a mermaid tail, but I've spent plenty of time pretending to be one lol. I've always favoured dolphin kick over anything else, especially in flippers. I got a hydra monofin for my birthday in February, but I haven't had much of a chance to use it since its been winter in the southern hemisphere. But my boyfriend is helping me make a neoprene tail at the moment, and I'm hoping to have it done before Christmas.

I'm excited to meet people after lurking for so long! Especially because there doesn't seem to be very many people here from my country. So again, hi [emoji4]

Thanks for the compliment! I'm really happy with this tail! I can't wait to get more underway! Mermaid Melaina's tail is in the very early stages...just made some test scales tonight!

I'm in Auckland, so close to both coasts as well but I spend most of my time on the east coast, in the Hauraki Gulf. But the last place I actually went diving was Fiji!
