Hello! My name is Katherine. I live in Croton-on-the-Hudson, New York. I like writing stories and poetry. I also like drawing with pencils and pastels, and gaming on the computer, and my wii. I like to hit the gym, although I am not making much progress. I love to swim, and practice holding my breath underwater, yet I can't go any longer than a minute. I also like to go bicycling, yet I keep close to home because I have no way of transporting my bike with my vehicle. I like hiking through my local parks, and seeing the different wildlife I can spot throughout the seasons. I am hoping to meet new friends, online and in real life, as I have in the recent past moved to Croton from Long Island. I visit long island on a semi-regular basis, and I visit Florida once or twice a year in the Citrus County area. Although I am intrigued and excited with the idea of swimming in a mermaid tail, I don't actually have the courage to try it in a public pool or area.

Welcome to the forum!
I started swimming with a monofin by itself before I made my first tail. It helped build up my confidence to try tail swimming, plus monofin swimming is a lot of fun! I love gliding through the water and zipping around everyone else :)
I don't go swimming often, but I still like swimming with the monofin by itself a lot of the time.
What games do you like to play?

Greetings, I'm from New York City,
Trust me being in tail its always scary/uncomfortable the first time you actually do it in public, but once you put on the tail and get into the water, it seems to go away because you're in a pool and your main focus is to swim and have fun, not what others are thinking/saying. Plus its always good to have a few merfriends around or just friends/family who are supportive of you. I agree to use the monofin first before putting on the tail, forget what others are saying just be yourself.

For the wii, I like wii fit, zelda legend of twilight, wii sports, endless ocean 1 and 2. For the computer, I used to play World of Warcraft, but now I am currently playing Oblivion. It's nice to meet you all. :D

Greetings! Firstly good job on playing Oblivion, Secondly writing and drawing is awesome, Finally I agree with starting with a Monofin. Mermaiding is strange enough for some people, but especially for a guy such as myself. I have found that a convenient 50% excuse is "I'm training for some recreational freediving." They just don't have to know that that freediving is in a tail. Plus that way you get the feeling of a mermaid and practice for your tail, holding your breath, and the overall feel without as much *what are you doing* vibe. The most comfortable way to swim in your tail is with a group, pirate event or private pool.
