Safe to sit on a dorsal fin?

So I'm saving up money to buy a silicone tail from either Merbella or Finfolk (it's leaning towards Finfolk since I'm completely mad about the Calypso tail) and in comes my question!
It has a huge dorsal fin and I'm wondering if it's safe to sit on?
Since it's so big I'm guessing that it is also pretty thick and I'm afraid that it'll break or tear if it's put under a lot of pressure.
I want a silicone tail that can be used for everything in mermaiding. Swimming, photo shoots and all that fun stuff!

I'm sorry if the question has already been brought up, I searched for it but couldn't find anything about it :S

Yes and no. depends on the style of the fin. I'm usually fine on wet surfaces that dont have a hard edge. But if your dorsal fin is behind your knees, and you sit your knees on a hard edge like wood or something, yes you can damage it. but in general no, sitting on your dorsal doesn't hurt it.

The fin looks pretty stiff and pretty much stands right out. I guess I'll have to sit a little on the side in it but you know, accidents can happen. I'm just wondering if it'll hold for one of those accidents. I'm mostly worried about kids since they can be kinda rough :thinks:

I would ask the twins about it. They would know what would be okay and what wouldn't. (If a kid even acts like they will grap my fins or scales, I say it hurts, like they are pinching real skin. They tend to leave it alone after that because they don't want to hurt the mermaid.)

Shimmer: That's great! Kids rarely intend to be mean or cruel, but still, it happens and I guess they just want to test the limits, but that is a totally different conversation :P

siliicone is rubbery and stretchy and squishy and i doubt you will have a problem. it will bend no problem unless they put something inside.
