I have been looking around but I have yet to find a good tutorial on how to paint a silicone tail without an air brush machine. I am really just trying to figure out how to blend the colors together. If anyone has any tips, advice, or tutorials I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.

Mer-gal, it does seem there is a dearth of information on painting silicone without an airbrush. I could only find one thread regarding it and they were asking the same question... with no answers.
You can use a brush to paint silicone. I know I've seen it mentioned here, somewhere, but a search yields nothing, as you discovered.
However, there is a lot of info within various threads about mixing pigment with silicone. If you do searches within some of the tailmaking threads, perhaps you'll find the info. You could use the mixes they talk about and paint it directly on.
Also, I found the following via Google.
Here is someone painting Dragon Skin silicone with a brush and PsychoPaint by Smooth-On (they make Dragon Skin silicone): http://www.smooth-on.com/gallery.php?galleryid=342
Kanti, who used to be a member here, has this great page on paining silicone, and she does mention using a brush and a mixing pigment with silicone instead of using PsychoPaint: http://kantikane.blogspot.com/2012/06/faq-about-full-silicone-mermaid-tails.html
And here is some info on what not to do: http://www.therpf.com/f9/dragon-skin-disaster-help-68194/
I sure hope some of this helps. If not, maybe it will steer you in the right direction and then you can be the first to post a full tutorial on painting a silicone tail wihout an airbrush.

AniaR- thanks for the thread I will keep an eye on it.
deepblue- thanks for all of the places to find out more info. If I figure out how to paint silicone without an airbrush well, then I will be sure to post a tutorial.

Mermaid Jessica is FANTASTIC at making tails, and she hand-paints everything. You can find her (second) tail making journey on the threads, and I'm sure if you message her on Facebook, she'll be more than willing to help you. I've been messaging her for help with my tail lately. :)
