I was thinking of joining in, but it was a really busy weekend...maybe better late than never?

Definitely :) It's only a few days in, and if you only plan on writing five days a week, you'll be fine on your word count.

I forgot about it and started it today. My goal tonight is 1500. I'm at just under 500.

I think it would be fun to share our stories with each other after the month is over, to exchange feedback and suggestions.

I'm busy as heck this year but I'm determined anyway! I have schoolwork until 2-3 in the afternoon, rehearsals from 6-9:30 and my grandparents are in town this weekend. I'm doing it anyway! I have the night off from rehearsal tonight though so I'm all caught up (and trying to get a little ahead). I'm at 9,266 words so far and I think I'm pretty happy with my story at this point. :D

For me, it's a school project for YWP NanoWrimo. Mine has to be 4000 words long. I hit 3950 words Tuesday

Oo I've actually always wanted to get into writing and creating my own stories, I've known about NaNoWriMo for a while, but didn't realize it was now.
I'll have to make up for missing out when I'm a little less busy. :)

Don't worry about nanowrimo! I think it helps to start on a site like wattpad, just start writing and getting feedback as you go. Don't stress about it being good, just do it! Soon enough you'll be able to decide if novel writing is for you! Or if you're more of a short story gal or even RP or something else. *shrug* I want to write novels but I won't ever really have the motivation and time to do nanowrimo. I write on my own time. I'm a little jealous of people who can crank out 1000 words a day because AH!

:) Yeah I still have no idea at this point if I'll want to actually put so much time into writing, but I definitely want to give it a go. NaNoWriMo would at least force me to put out however many words, instead of fussing over every single line wondering whether or not it's completely stupid.

Wow, I'm late to the party with this thread, but I'm doing NaNoWriMo seriously for the first time since 2008! I'm a bit behind at the moment at 41800... but I think I'm close enough that I can win if I push really hard these next couple days!!

We ended up so busy with family stuff that I only got about 5,000 words done (in 2 1/2 days, though!) I have decided that NaNo isn't for me, simply because I can't like what I've speed written. I have to take time to really like the scene. (Not make it perfect, but I don't want to write something I HATE).

Yeah, it can be a big commitment! It's really hard to set aside those couple hours every day. I took like... a 5-year break where I never managed to finish (tried twice in the middle, but got too busy & had to stop partway through).

I finally made it again this year though! Finished today :)
