Hi guys ^-^
As some of you may know : I've been planing to sell this tail for a while now, practically since it became an idea in 2012.The tail was made with my measurements so that i could easily alter it and expedite the process. i began pouring silicone for this tail on new years day and it was completed in July. It.It was only used for two photo shoots and It has only been swam in once to ensure its function and fit in the water. I plan to continue making tails and am selling it to create a wide library of molds and inventory for tails to come .
This is a huge tail, two and a half gallons of fx pro where used to make it and it has a custom two layers of lexan polycarbonate fluke infused into the tail (the polycarbonate is fused to a foot-pocket made of silicone with silicone), i mean it when i say this tail is completely silicone ( with the exception of the polycarbonate ) lol. There is not one drop of paint on this tail;the pigments and glitters i used where mixed into the silicone before pouring and the details /fading /gilding where all done by hand with the silicone. The scales are three sizes and flow into each-other ( No seams). I am asking for $1700 USD for this tail plus shipping.
I can also add more scales to cover some belly and send you the mold for the scales in case you want to add some for more coverage yourself. The design of the tail was made to show off the lower stomach and was made higher in the back to give the illusion of the scales growing from the skin as they would if " anatomically correct" as depicted in some of the older paintings of mermaids i found ( not a straight line ) and cover ze butt when the wearer is sitting. This being said i am a relatively short woman (5'6) and most of my height is in my torso, as you will note by the measurements posted .

also:PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE know that this tail is not a toy .It takes a serious swimmer to maneuver with their legs bound . ( i know that if you're reading this on mernetwork you might have figured that out but a warning cant hurt)

Here you can find pics of the tail & measurements:

Hi there I'm interested in the tail I'm the same hight as you but my height is in my legs. Can I have the measurements? And I would be interested in a custom made tail if I knew your price ranges :)

Hi East Coast mermaid ^-^ and welcome to the MerNetwork, i can see by your join date you're new in these waters.
the measurements for the tail listed are :
waist:36in
knees:22in
ankles:14in
each of these measurements gradually slope into the next along the vertical measurements:this is not like a 2D clothing item, it slopes because it was shaped for a body.
vertical front(hip-ankles):32in
vertical back: 36 in
foot pocket : at most will fit a 9&1/2

if you want any other measurements, please let me know which specific ones.

i made the front and back heights of the tail to fit my measurements and account for my backside ( like a seamstress would add length to a skirt in the back), however it was made to fit at my hips, not waist, and may be low if your height is mostly in your legs. If you could send me a measurement from your waist (just below your navel ) to your ankles, i could add flesh toned scales upwards to fade into your skin at no extra cost. I knew that this tail would be sold and am willing to make alterations that wont interrupt the flow of the scales ( require me to cut the tail ) to better suit its owner.

As for custom tails; i am still in the process of converting preliminary designs into sculpts ,but could share some of these with you or anyone currently interested in a custom tail. I would hesitantly say that these tails would run about $2200 USD (though i would charge per set of extra fins also, proportional to the amount of silicone needed),but given that the molds i would be making for my first clients would be used for future designs; a lower price (about 1800USD) would certainly be negotiable contingent upon the dimensions of the tail and complexity of its design(i.e:im not going to charge the same amount for a 30 inch fluke as i would a 50in fluke). I would also offer a discount (a free pair of fins, throw in a top, or a monetary equivalent) if i where allowed to photograph the initial tails (fist five tails ^-^) with a professional model to further advertise my work.

At this point, i have the know how, connections and basic materials. I want to sell this first tail to have some basic scale, fin and fluke designs ready to cast and therefore have some of the groundwork out of the way for my first clients. However, right now: I just want to get my work out there! In still building my website and just decided on a logo (sneak peek is coming soon ^-^) and im totally open to any suggestions or offers you may find fair.If you or any other Mer have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact me here or via my email: emapava@gmail.com
