Hello everyone! So far, I am going by Mermaid Angelique though I am not yet certain it entirely fits my mersona. I don't remember precisely what questions I asked Uncle Google to stumble across this website, but I was incredibly excited to find this place. I have identified with mermaids ever since I can remember. When I was little I would spend hours upon hours in the ocean during beach vacations swimming around and just willing my legs to turn into a tail. Needless to say, it never quite worked and I can't say that I really outgrew that stage. :$
When I am not hunting the web for merfriendly websites, I play the harp, read whatever books I can get my hands on, attempt to write stories of my own (anyone else participating in NaNoWriMo?) and write the somewhat lesss fun papers for my college courses.
I don't have a tail yet, but intend to change that. I may start with a fabric one and upgrade to a silicon one as finances allow.
Delighted to meet you all!

Hi Angelique! (One of my favorite Kenny Loggins songs!) Welcome to the network!
Funny, there's a couple of NaNoWriMo-ers on here (I'm going to try and catch up), and at least one other harpist!
Look around, ask questions...we're a very friendly bunch!

Welcome Angelique! :)
There are indeed many musical mers around here.
I play Celtic and Chinese Harp and also write music for them.
Any ideas yet what you want your tail to look like?

Thank you so much everyone! Good luck with NaNoWriMo, PearlieMae, we're not that far into it so I'm sure you can catch up. It's hard to believe it's that time of the year again, though!

Hey, you're at least the second harp playing mer we have here. :) (Edit- make that three, maybe more...)
Welcome! I was planning to do NaNoWriMo this year, but really I can't. This month will be focused on something else. I might do it anyway in December, unofficially. And FYI- we have a thread for mer-writers: http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?5504-The-Mer-Writers-Thread

Whoops, Echnida, I was posting just as you were. I've never met anyone who plays the Chinese harp! I imagine it's gorgeous! How did you get started? Where did you find one?
As to what I want my tail to look like, that changes all the time. The two ideas I keep coming back to are a tail inspired by peacock feathers and one with leopard spots or tiger stripes. Goodness, I guess that's three ideas!

^^well, 3 tails it is then.
One can never have too many tails! ;)
As for the 古箏 harp, I got mine when I was still in China and took it with me when I moved to Europe.
The tax I was billed for it by German customs was ten times what I had paid to aquire it :p
