The blue is EXACTLY what I am looking for. Not greenish, nor purpilish, just bright electric BLUE <3

although...I wonder if I should loose the rose? I mean, I like it, but I wonder how it would look in scale form though...

I know I am considering taking away the rose and just having black within the blue of the body, because that's what I want, a blue and black tail with mystical gothy touches ^^ but I has the time to figure out for sure ^___^

hmm, I have Given it some though and I might as well just ramble about my ideas, I mean, that's what the thread is for I believe, so I definitely think I may scrape the rose pattern at the waist line, I mean I like the IDEA of it looking like a butterfly flying away from a rose but realistically, I dunno if I am for that considering it will be done scale by scale.

I have been thinking of having the first 4-5 rows of scales at the waist be pitch black, from there the next rows are mostly black and the edges of the scales be blue, beginning the gradient, as the rows of scales go down there starts to be more blue and less black as the body trails. Between the middle of the calf area and above the fluke the scales are completely blue. The colors from the fish tail tattoo are exactly what I want, and the shape of the scales as well, varying from small to medium sized scales, I would like to avoid large scales. The fluke is exactly as drawn in the original design though, that's set in stone for me. I believe I have already discussed this but just to reiterate, I wanna go with the length and width of a competitor monofin and for the fluke to be as stiff as possible so it holds the butterfly shape, maybe have it be even a bit thicker then usual, only if that works with the design though of course ^^


I feel like that would look good, but I can only imagine it in my head so can't say for sure until I can manage to get a hold of a drawn version of it. Gotta be sure and all ^^

oh, and I was just wondering about if the waist lines are customizable too? I know most tail makers only make a straight line all across but I was wondering if mine could be just enough to cover meh butt, then along just beneath the widest part of my hips and then a soft V line in the front, to outline my pelvic line ^^ I figure if the waist outlines my hips and pelvic line not only will it have a sensual look but gaining or losing weight won't interfere with the tail.

I can offer a compromise...across the below-tum V shape, I can make skin colored, translucent scales that work look like that, but not compromise the waistline in a manner that will make your tail skip off while swimming.

No thank you, I decided long ago I did not want a blended waist.

So it cannot have a V shape at all? (I mean, the waist is much steeper in that picture then I imagined but it was the closest I could find of a v example.) If no V then that is very unfortunate but don't worry about it.

Can you keep it from reaching too high though? A lot of tails I see are high waisted and I don't want the tail to cover my belly button, is that possible?

For the waistline on the franken-neoprene tail i made I simply made the back higher and the front lower. No "V" shape, and it still fit snug. Would that not be a good compromise? It didn't cause any scooping problems for me.....?

Thanks! I'd love a new camera, but I already have a really great Nikon...it's just a hassle to offload the photos, resize them, transfer and upload them, when I can just snap a shot with my celphone. :)

What kind of blue are you looking for? I went by the blue in the fish tattoo, but monitors and printers can vary widely...if you go to Home Depot and find a paint chip in the blue you like, let me know the brand and color and I can go to the Home Depot here and pick up the same chip.

Went on the home depo adventure ^^ I found two colors that were as close to what I want as I could find, they are BHER colors called,"Jamaican sea" and "blue jewel". I feel like somwehere inbetween those 2 would be best.

I mean, I prefer just the grdient, the center being black and the rest being the bright blue. I am not really looking for a fade, if it has to fade that is ok, but I am not really looking for a fade.

I have also been wondering if it would be easier to do it the opposite way? Perhaps the center be the bright blue and the black is just the outlined edges?

I am flexible on the color pattern for the scales, I just really want there to be LOTS of bright blue and LOTS of pitch black all throughout the tail.

ah! well in the case i would honestly rather stick to those scales you made then, because it is at least clear that it is black and blue.

i REALLY don't want it to look purple or green...i actually don't really like to wear either of those colors.

so since that is the case the scales in the pic should be good ^^ and hopefully the scales that are mostly sapphire with an outline of blue will help the over all design and color :)

Something I suddenly thought of looking back at the original design... You could always play around with a floaty black fabric - either silk like or organza... And make a black rose mink-skirt to wear on top? Just a thought!

I love butterflies - and I'm really looking forward to seeing the fluke and fins! Gorgeous work so far!

I picked up the first season of Six Feet Under at the thrift store. I forgot how good that show was! That's the theme by Thomas Newman. He did the music for the movie American Beauty, too.

Going to make more, and the smaller scales will be relocated lower...I LOVE the way they look, but that's just me. Would you like lots of the extra large scales? I think Dancing Fish's XL copper scales look wonderful. It's totally up to you. Think about it and let me know! I'm happy to rearrange the scales! :D
