I was asked to introduce myself…I don’t even know where to begin. So I’ll just ramble.
I have worked in aquatic circus for 10 years and have been/am currently employed by Cirque Du Soleil in wardrobe/costume.
I’m a MFA, and have a Masters degree from SCAD and FullSail.
I have traveled the world, and I love fantasy.
I’m a master artist, and live in florida.

I’m a single mother with a 2 year old.

I’m a domestic abuse survivor.

Aquatic circus sounds very exciting.
Can you tell a bit more about what you did there and what it was like?

I don't think we have anything like that in the entire country :(

Aquatic circus is pretty common. Actually cirque Dusoleil has an Aquatic show. "O"
And there is LeReve.
I worked for Seaworld, Tokyo splash circus(japan), Chime long dive show(china), Brown Entertainment(USA), Tailor made <saftey harness and equipment for movie production of Disney's Pirates(USA and UK), stranger tide movie>, Macow water show (china) Disney wardrobe and stunts <saftey harness and stunt bags> Agrifab <saftey equipment and rigging> Dreamlight active wear, RUG (really useful group-CATs broadway across America Tour)
Cirque Dusoleil (currently, crafts, creation and wardrobe/costuming)

There are so many aquatic circus shows across the globe, and MANY here in the USA. I love working with aquatic circus and especially with mermaids, free divers, high divers, water ballet, water areobics/gymnastics, water stunts and animal interaction costuming.

Currently I am employed at Cirque Du Soleil.

I encouraged you to post an introduction because we all love to get to know new mermaids and sometimes it's hard to do then when people hop right into postings. We'd have never known all these cool things about you :) I hope you'll like it here.

Welcome, Xanadu! You fit in beautifully here on MerNetwork. I'm glad you delurked! I've seen a bunch of Cirque shows, but I didn't know about aquatic circuses. Now I'm going to research that and try to find an opportunity to see one. Thanks for sharing!

Ooh, that sounds like so much fun! I love Cirque Du Soleil, and almost anything RUG-related (but CATS is in my top three musicals of all time - PotO is the first and always will be).

I can't wait to see more of your creations - that mermaid "unisuit" is really awesome! The orca ones are gorgeous!
