I need some advice from those who have worked with silicone. I'm making accessories for my new Etsy shop. I'm not casting in silicone at this point (maybe later, if I can find time). But I have acquired some little silicone critters for crafting, and some of them need painted accents. Right now I'm working on turning a plain red, silicone shrimp into a specific species of fire shrimp. I have two live fire shrimp residing in my aquariums; they are my models:

I need to find a paint that will allow me to give the all-red silicone shrimps white antenna, legs, and carapace dots. I don't want to go to the hassle of mixing silicone and pigment for such a small amount of painting. (The shrimps I bought are a little over two inches long.)

Would a craft enamel or even nail polish work?

Nope. It HAS to be silicone and pigment, mixed. You can mix a tiny bit, as long as parts A and B are equal. Nothing - NOTHING - ADHERES to silicone but silicone.

Cat hair sticks, and dirt and all kinds of crap, but it can all be washed off.

:D

Guess I'd better get me some silicone, then! Thanks, Pearlie.
